All is well. You did not come here to fix a broken world. The world is not broken. You came here to live a wonderful life. And if you relax a little and let it all in, you will begin to see the Universe present you with all that you have asked for.

A Glimpse of Our World~*

Love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Oreithyia

The week started off with heavy fog and early morning rain drops.  Then the strong north winds have been with us since Tuesday, consistently making us feel like summer was ending.  Boreas!  It has to be him!

This sublime painting of Oreithyia, mesmerizes me.  She was abducted by the Greek god Boreas, of the North Wind who lived in Thrace.  He is depicted as being winged, extremely strong, bearded and normally clad in a short pleated tunic so if you see a muscular man in a short dress, well know that he is the son of Eos and Astraeus, and the brother of Zephyrus, Eurus and Notus.. and hide for cover!

''Boreas has two sons, two daughters and twelve mares which can race over the ground without destroying the grain. When the Persian navy of Xerxes threatened the city of Athens, the Athenians begged his assistance. The Great Wind of the Wintery North blew his anger at the Persians and 400 Persian ships sank immediately. Among other violent acts he abducted Oreithyia, the daughter of the king of Athens, when she was playing on the banks of the Ilissus. In Latin, he is called Aquilo.''

Neo-Classicist John William Waterhouse (1849 – 1917) created lavish works imbued with lifelike details and an otherworldly, haunting sensuality. Born in Italy and raised in Britain, Waterhouse merged Victorian narrative with romantic Pre-Raphaelite fantasy in his work, drawing inspiration from Greek myths, Shakespeare, Arthurian legends, Homer, Tennyson and Keats. A member of the Royal Academy, Waterhouse often painted dramatic scenes emphasizing powerful or tragic women. He created more than 200 paintings, and was one of the few artists to attain fame and fortune in his lifetime.

Plant an Edible Ornamental Harvest Garden

This video uses the box gardening idea on a larger scale to create a 3 dimensional area, visually pleasing from every angle. The weeping Santa Rosa plum, easy to pick and dwarfs so they are in reaching range. He says to make sure to thin out a total of 4-6 inches of the growths so you can harvest 30 pounds of better quality fruit than 30 pounds of larger quantity which makes sense.

For example if you see a bunch of clusters on a branch, thin out all the small clusters to 1 or 2 fruit. Then 1 or 2 fruit every 4 - 6 inches. If a tree is vigorous and growing tall, it will need 'topping' which is cutting down the long branches in similar height (to about 8 feet) and then thinning out the center for light exposure, air movement, cutting away any weak or dead areas.

So much helpful information here! Inspiring to watch..

Baby Eyes - by Liubomila

Beginning of Spring, Caminha

Baby Eyes

Beloved daughter conceived under a bright night filled sky,
With hand in air I sweep the skies collecting every star,
Placing them on seed filled womb and we sigh, daughter and I,
For how happy He makes His creations, how dear to Him they are.
And I sing, I sing for the Baby Eyes I will soon see,
The birds chorus in on Love's inspired melody,
With every breath the fragrant flowers of my Space so free,
I breath and exhale Love as I dream of my daughter to be.
I feel her stir within me, how can this be?
For smaller than a wee seed is she.
Yet I feel her, a presence greater than Life,
O' Joy! Beloved creation knowing no strife.
Do you see your father there, deep in thought?
Tears streaming his cheeks for in Love's web he is caught.
He is Man and I his eternal beloved and in our Love you came to be,
And on this earthly plane so fair my love you too will see,
The Love of a True Man as it was always meant to be.
Listen to the rustle of the leaves dear one,
The winds that whistle the Father's tune,
It is all for you for He has made it so and I as His beloved creation,
Give it to you to enjoy in moment so soon.
O' look daughter dear! Just look at what He has given us!
Look with that heart so fine and rare,
Able to repair all in despair,
O' how you will grace these lands so fair!

A New Seed

 In the center of Braga

A New Seed

I awoke one fine morn' in my Space of Love,
And took a dawn's walk among morning mist and dew.
Father's gentle caress came by way of a soft breeze,
And I said, "What shall we create anew?"

Just then my feet gave way, shifting Earth first left then right,

Something glimmered and shined in the faint sun light,
As I moved closer in to examine this playful delight,
Lo' and behold a new seed came into view of my sight.

Tiny as a pine nut, fragrant as a flower, a new creation in hand!

"What will this be, oh Father dear?" I whispered as I cried.
Then a voice so gentle and so sweet as I had never heard,
Warmed my heart while my soul sighed.
"She shall be what you shall make her,
All is within you to create.
With pure love as your guide and pure thought as your maker,
You shall decide its fate."

Inspiration burst forth as I felt an image form,

A tree majestic as a maple I could see,
But its bark was of bamboo; maple leaves not the norm,
Instead lilies of the valley adorned this tree.

All summer long these flowers bloomed,

Their gorgeous fragrance filled the air.
And in the backdrop of an evening sky,
Each flower lit up as if a star so rare.

What sheer Joy this image created, a delight for every eye to behold.

And as I found a perfect place for it to grow,
The sun's rays warmed my new seed more precious than gold!

A Poem by Tree

A fountain over 300 years old in the center of Braga

overflowing abundance for everyone on earth
conscious co-creation and consciousness with birth
understanding language woven in the natural scene
taking in the waters that are living and pristine
fragrances of flowers floating to us thru the air
living in the moment- no more technocratic care
hearing loves sweet call across the distances of time
knowing how to answer, singing words that often rhyme
coming into fullness of the Man we are To Be
living, laughing, loving, and of course we all are free

this day I pray these things for you
we lay the way for dreams do come true

The Great Turning

THE GREAT TURNING*

You’ve asked me to tell you of the Great Turning, of how we saved the world from disaster. The answer is both simple and complex:

We turned.

For hundreds of years we had turned
away as life on earth grew more precarious.
We turned away from the homeless men on the streets, the stench from
the river, the children orphaned in Iraq, the mothers dying of AIDS in Africa.

We turned away because that is what we had been taught.
To turn away, from the pain, from the hurt in another’s eyes, from the
drunken father or the friend betrayed. Always we were told, in actions
louder than words, to turn away, turn away. And so we became a lonely
people caught up in a world moving too quickly, too mindlessly toward its own demise.

Until it seemed as if there was no safe place to turn. No place, inside or out, that did not remind us of fear or terror, despair and loss, anger and grief.

Yet on one of those days someone did turn.

Turned to face the pain.
Turned to face the stranger.
Turned to look at the smoldering world and the hatred seething in too many eyes.
Turned to face himself, herself.

And then another turned.
And another. And another.
And as they wept, they took each other’s hands.

Until whole groups of people were turning.
Young and old, gay and straight. People of all colors, all nations, all religions.
Turning not only to the pain and hurt but to the beauty, gratitude and love.
Turning to one another with forgiveness and a longing for peace in their hearts.

At first the turning made people dizzy, even silly. There were people standing to the side gawking, criticizing, trying to knock the turners down.  But the people turning kept getting up, kept helping one another to their feet. Their Laughter and kindness brought others into the turning circle until even the naysayers began to smile and sway.

As the people turned, they began to spin, reweaving the web of life, mending the shocking tears, knitting it back together with the colors of the earth, sewing on tiny mirrors so the beauty of each person, each
creature, each plant, each life form might be seen and respected.

And as the people turned, as they spun like the earth through the universe, the web wrapped around them like a soft baby blanket, making it clear all were loved, nothing separate.  As this love reached into every crack and crevice, the people began to wake and wonder, to breathe and give thanks, to work and celebrate
together.

And so the world was saved, but only as long as you, too, sweet one, remember to turn.

Where is Your Space of Love?

Design by Anahata Katkin

Last week I went to the Space of Love book launch in Braga and met the lovely Joanne Gribler who is the publisher for the Portuguese version of The Ringing Cedars.  She was a single mom who worked as a clown (still does inbetween teaching laughter yoga and running a publishing house!) and after reading the first book in English, she was inspired, determined to find the resources to travel to Egypt and meet the author Vladmir Megré in his first international conference, which she did.  She then got the license to be the official publisher in Portugal and exhaustively searched for a translator.  She believes, without a doubt, that these books were the answer that humanity was waiting for. That in these books held the key to the cage of unconsciousness and the release of brainwashing that we were subjected to for thousands of years.

When I asked her about how she created her own space of love, she said that she was a single mother without a penny and just walked into a bank and said:

''Listen, my child needs home, do you give clowns a loan?''

They all laughed their heads off and gave her the loan. She pays very little every month and she built a geodesic dome in the garden where they sleep. And soon enough, she inspired other single mothers to do the same! And as soon as they had their land set up, along came a suitable husband for each one of them! She said that maybe the plants helped. She literally planted a cherry tree, kissed it and asked it to find her a husband!  Now she has a 1 year old son and her daughter turned 11.

She says that we're much more than we think and that in fact we are approaching more to what we define today as super heroes.  She also says that in our ignorance, we block our children's full potential by teaching them to evolve the same as we were brought up, only to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
When Megré asked Anastasia what kept us from being like her & her people, she says, ''Parents.''  So it is now our job to find a way to raise our children without cutting their wings.

Where is your space of love? How can we live a life in abundance and quality? As we lose the earth beneath our feet and stand in a box of bricks belonging to the bank?

Eternity Lies Ahead for You and Me

image found on the internet

''My dearest!  Eternity lies ahead for you and me.  Life will always claim its own, you see.  The littlest ray of sunlight glistens in the spring, and the soul enrobes itself in its new things.  But the decaying body does not embrace the ground in vain.  Come spring, from our bodies will sprout new flowers and grass again.  You shall forever hear the birds sing, and drink in the drops of rain.  In the blue sky above, the clouds - again and again - will entrance you with their dance.

''And if you, my dearest, should find yourself scattered across the unfathomable Universe as little specks of dust, still refusing to believe, then from these specks of dust wandering through eternity I shall begin to gather you up.  And the tree you plant will help me do this: in the early spring, to the place where your soul lies in unfeeling peace, it will stretch out its branch above.  And those you have been kind to upon the Earth will remember you with love.  And if the sum total of earthly love is not enough to materialise you once again, then there is one - one whom you know, and on every plane of being she will be flaming with a single breath of desire, namely: materialise yourself, my love! - there is one who will give herself over, for a moment, unto death.''

In the Moment of Now

By Anders Sufi Blomdahl from Stockholm.  He is an intuitive photographer that knows how to pull you into the present moment with the most simple images from nature.

He says, ''I Am ... and a Voyager in and promoter of .. real Knowledge .. Life .. Light .. Love .. and Peace .. in Our Beautiful World ...

I have many interests .. as eg. .. Real communication .. Being in the serenity and power of Nature .. walking in forests and mountains .. kayaking .. science .. Reiki .. music .. literature .. intuitive and creative photography ...

To be able to Be .. and really appreciate Our Beautiful World .. I believe we need to let go of the unconscious Fear we have within .. and begin Loving ourselves . Our fear originates out of Not having been Really Accepted and Loved in childhood .. but having had to conform to parents .. society .. and culture .. in order to get some kind of acceptance and love . This Fear .. then shows itself unconsciously .. through depression .. anger .. hatred .. vengeance .. and war . The great obstacle for Love and Peace .. in Ourselves and in the World .. is then the lack of .. Real Love and Understanding in childhood . However .. we have the possibility to heal Ourselves .. by "going back" to our childhood .. to explore and re-experience emotionally by Heart .. the real Truth about our own childhood .. the childhood we unconsciously have suppressed .. and hereby get a Real Understanding and Knowledge of .. what have made us into the persons we think we are . Through this process .. we will find our True Self .. and discover .. Who .. we Really Are ...''

Casa das Flores

After the morning snack at Petipan Café we walked to Casa das Flores to pick up some organic goods.  Usually this flower shop is filled with various bouquets but in the fall and winter it is mostly stocked with home grown fruits and vegetables.

The prices were incredibly low compared to what I was used to paying in the south which was almost €3 for 4 organic apples.  Today I bought this whole basket for only €1.70!

The Little Things in Life

Often times we forget to appreciate the little things in life that are constantly overshadowed by the bigger things.  The rain kept us indoors for the most part and I found myself staring outside the window until my focus zoomed in on this little plant.  It was tiny, naive, and knew that it too had its own unique beauty to offer besides the towering plants.

Then in another pot I discovered purple clovers.  I think that is what they are.  I have never seen or noticed them before.

And these are the little chestnuts that were ready to go into the oven.  I was the only one who liked them raw and my father in law put cuts into each one before putting them in the oven so they don't explode.  Although that could have been fun for my munchkins to experience.  I'll have to try that on Monday when the maid is here.

My first time cracking open a pine nut, wasn't easy. Yup, ex city girl learns how to eat them freshly shelled.  Behind each leaf pulled back exposed 2 hard shells.  I had to use a hammer to crack one open and oh how tender and fresh the pine nut was, and the scent of cedar on my fingers!  It was a new experience eating them.  Anastasia is lucky to have an army of squirrels crack them open for her all the time!  I have a new found respect for squirrels now.

And thank you Isaura for bringing me this fresh pine cone today!

Feston Roses

The Feston rose plant is one of the top 10 purifying plants according to The New Ecologist.

The scent of fresh roses and freesias always take me back to my youth but the Feston rose plant always pull me into the time of my preschool years.  Warm sunny days and the gentle breeze delicately igniting the unique scent of these little flowers, my mouth always watered while images of orange and red creamsicles swirled in my head.  I guess it always sparked my creativity and pulled me into a moment of timelessness.

Then I recently realized that I grew up with a secret admiration and love for this often ignored plant as I find myself delighted whenever I see my children walking towards them or when they bring me a stem full of these scented buds.  It is true, that whatever you appreciate or love, Life keeps giving you more.

A Squirrel's Paradise

Today we spent the entire afternoon in a special place overlooking the city below. What a jewel of a place!  I would compare it to Bavaria, in respect to the architecture and landscape; even the culture and mentality of the people are remarkably distinct from the rest of this tiny country.

When we got out of the car we came across acorns and chestnuts scattered abundantly below the trees and I thought, ''A squirrel's paradise!'' I felt so much joy and gratitude to be here that I didn't even mind my kids slipping on acorns and falling down, getting dirty within 2 minutes of exiting the car.

This place is famous for its botanical gardens in the heart of the lush, green Minho region and there were pine trees, chestnut trees, dandelion weeds and aloe vera all over the forest. Raw foodist's can surely sustain themselves here if needed.  And there was some kind of exotic fruit tree growing next to the hotel located by the grotto but I couldn't figure it out. I will go back and ask the Hotel tomorrow.

It's absolutely amazing here and it is only now that I see the abundance of this special place. Now that my head is clear and I have 2 boys to navigate through this world. My spirit has already left our ritzy tourist town filled with the diplomatic communities, the nouveau riche, the retired, and misguided village idots. Well, they are everywhere but I want to be as far away as possible.

This place also has natural springs flowing continuously and the water was so sweet and alive compared to my regular Brita filtered water.  What a huge difference.

I got to spend some quiet time on a boat with my oldest son while the little one was napping. My oldest knows how to row the boat now but we floated silently on the lake for the most part, enjoying the sunlight peeking through the branches of leaves, caressing us throughout the afternoon. It was a splendid day!

And imagine, living only 5 minutes away from here. I just have to find some squirrels to let loose in this forest and I'll be set!  What a gift!
